Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of bread, such as French bread or Italian bread
  • ½ cup 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (e.g., mozzarella, cheddar, or a combination)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Using a sharp serrated knife, make horizontal and vertical cuts into the bread, creating a grid-like pattern of square or rectangular pieces. Make sure not to cut all the way through the bread, leaving the bottom intact.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Using a pastry brush or spoon, generously brush the garlic butter mixture into the cuts and over the top of the bread, making sure to get it between the slices.
  • Stuff the shredded cheese into the cuts, ensuring each piece of bread is well-coated with cheese.
  • Wrap the bread loosely in aluminum foil, leaving the top exposed. Place the bread on the prepared baking sheet or dish. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for about 8 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is golden and crispy on the outside.
  • Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve it warm and enjoy by pulling apart the individual cheesy and garlicky pieces.
