Ingredients

  • 1 lb. unpeeled prawns
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional, for spice)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Rinse the prawns under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Use a small knife to make a shallow cut along the back of the prawn and remove the dark vein. Season them lightly with salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chili flakes and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Be careful not to burn them.
  • Increase the heat to medium-high and add the prawns to the skillet in a single layer. Cook them for about 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque. The cooking time may vary depending on the size of the prawns.
  • Drizzle the fresh lemon juice over the prawns and stir to coat them evenly. Cook for an additional minute to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Remove the skillet from heat. Taste the prawns and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Transfer the butter garlic prawns to a serving dish. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve. Enjoy!
