- 1 tsp matcha green tea powder
- ¼ cup hot water (not boiling)
- 2 tsp honey, maple syrup, or other natural sweetener (adjust to taste)
- ¾ cup cold milk (dairy or plant-based)
- Ice cubes
In a bowl, sift the matcha green tea powder to eliminate any clumps. Combine the hot water with the matcha powder and vigorously whisk using a bamboo matcha whisk or a small whisk until a velvety paste with frothy consistency forms. Add 1-2 teaspoons of honey or your favored natural sweetener to the matcha paste.
Pour cold milk (dairy or plant-based) into an ice-filled glass. If you desire added creaminess, consider frothing the milk slightly using a milk frother before incorporating it into the glass.
